Experience
I earned my BS in General Science, with a concentration in Biology, from Fairleigh Dickinson University. During my time at university, I had the opportunity to tutor my peers in the Center for Academic Student Success. I tutored a variety of subjects, including chemistry, writing, biology, organic chemistry, and math, in addition to others. Once I graduated, I obtained work as a lab assistant in a cosmetics lab. I have a strong affinity for education, and science in particular. I love tutoring, because I get to lead my students to have a more inquisitive mind, and develop their drive to learn about the world around us. Without facing and overcoming challenges, students would not be prepared for the "real world," so I enjoy taking that journey with them. I can remember struggling with classes in school, and use the experience of facing and overcoming them to inspire my students. It also gives me empathy for them, enabling me to be patient and understanding. My students appreciate the individualized lessons I create for them, which match their strengths and abilities, fostering success. I firmly believe that learning and fun go together, and that is how I tutor. In my spare time, I play the guitar and the flute, write, and explore nature.
